Music is Medicine
Jonah Ocean is a multi instrumentalist and singer based in Vancouver. Raised in a musical family, he has been singing for as long as he can remember. Being exposed to a wide variety of spiritual traditions as a child, and then studying classical and jazz music in college - Jonah now combines his background knowledge and skill set to offer medicine music at a high level. Jonah also worked as an elementary school music teacher for 6 years, sharpening his ability to attune music for an intimate group setting. In 2021 Jonah began playing music for plant medicine ceremonies and has since played for over 60 ceremonies with various practitioners, elders, and medicine workers.

Soundbath
Combining many instruments into a seamless and restorative sound journey, Jonah’s soundbaths are a unique experience. He uses a wide variety of gentle instruments, angelic and evocative singing, and loop pedal with sound effects to lull you into a trance like state for down regulation and emotional processing.
Medicine Music and Ceremony
With many years of ceremonial experience, Jonah has memorized hundreds of medicine songs in 8 languages. He has trained to sing and play for up to 10 hours straight to guide journeys and hold a strong and nurturing container. His speciality is attuning and adjusting the music to the emotions and energies that arise in the circle, helping people to navigate through their journey with a natural and improvised flow.
Jonah has played for countless plant medicine ceremonies, and studied with facilitators, elders, and medicine workers from all around the world.
